Now that spring and warmer weather is here, we are ready to get a few outdoor projects done around the house.
We’ve lived here for 6 years now and these projects have been on our to-do list for all of that time even if they haven’t been high in priority.
Since I am participating in The Home Depot Spring DIY program, I will get to actually do some of the projects that I might find myself putting off again.
I’ve been wanting flowers bordering the front of the house, around the porch, and maybe even around the mailbox. When I start planning projects like this I tend to plan quite a bit larger than I should. Baby steps, Anna, baby steps. I love this whiskey barrel planter, I think it would be really cute flanking the steps of my front porch.
We could also use a walkway from our back porch (where we usually go in and out) to where we park the cars. When it’s rainy even for a little bit it can get quite muddy and that doesn’t bode well for the interior of my cars or my house.
Another project we’ve been meaning to do is make a more permanent fire pit in our backyard. A few years ago we built a temporary one for a Hawaiian Luau themed 21st birthday party. It worked great and was in a perfect location and we meant to make it permanent but as usual life happens and that got shoved down on the to-do lists. I would also love to build some sort of pergola type of thing over it.
